Team/Task description

Deliver periodic reports of visitor numbers to help understand how many visitors attend the area. Design an algorithm to avoid calculation errors and define the meaning of visitor in terms of uniqueness, duration, and other qualities.

Drive a car or van a few times to the airport, a storage warehouse, or the hardware store. The distances are usually a few to a dozen kilometres, and you can drive your own vehicle or a vehicle that we rent. Choose and inform a staffperson of the name of your assistant, that you try to have at all times while driving.

Be prepared with tools (broom, rags, cleaning spray, trash bags) to ensure the area is clean and orderly. Understand the policy of identifying trash, which includes business cards, stickers, and brochures. Regularly walk to monitor all surfaces in the area and clean where needed. Explain to others that their little bags, business cards, gift certificates, and similar things are only welcome when they understand and follow the rules that you enforce.

Work with the staffperson coordinating the Meet-a-mentor program, one of the Cryptocurrency Village and Challenge's half dozen minor activities. Most mentors are tasked with monitoring the area for the people most likely to be novices, walking to them, and offering light conversation of a social and technical nature. Success is defined if many people who don't know what to ask, learn a few important things about our group and the technology it represents. It's always good to remind that we focus on exploring financial technology usually built with blockchains by carrying out interactive learning and offensive security.

Introduce and assist speakers, instructors, and other vocal figures. The most typical performance involves standing on a stage and using a microphone to announce the forthcoming workshop. This role includes many duties such as getting to know speakers one or two weeks before necessary, informing speakers about their room environment, obtaining and giving water bottles, and answering questions about the speaker you will introduce.

Photograph the areas under control of the Cryptocurrency Village and Challenge (CVC) while understanding the complex DEF CON policy rules. Prepare yourself by downloading and reading photography guides and maintain a set of AI prompts to help ensure the success of this very important role. A less likely duty includes learning and managing our commercial photography light box for small products, or engaging professional photographers. Help your colleagues decide if they want you to arrange classic head shot photos for a yearbook or similar. Help the staff secretary remember to replace your entrance badge with a special press badge.

Help visitors understand the activities available to them and register them for activities by entering their information in the appropriate online form(s.) Oblige each visitor to join the Discord server, if there is low or moderate probability they may benefit from information exchanged there. Serve staffpeople, instructors, judges, and other official representatives by offering information. For example, you may need to help a workshop instructor understand which of her students refused or failed to register for the workshop.

Run errands by walking alone or teaming up with a driver. Take orders from staffmembers with examples including walking to Quartermaster storage and obtain a USB cable, walk to a neighbor village to borrow a screwdriver, walk to the food court to buy lunch for your colleagues, ride with a driver to the nearest copy shop or post office.

Distribute physical items, some of which are given free of charge and others sold in a commercial fashion. Distributing free of charge items requires your strategic plan to avoid giving the same item more than once to each visitor. In some cases the distribution follows a rule set, such as prizes awarded to winning contestants. You may receive a special vendor badge to identify your role, instead of the village creator badge or white human badge.
